​Each mainstage show requires approximately six weeks of rehearsal and includes a cast from 5-25 actors/singers/dancers plus a production crew of 15-20 people, including: director and assistant director, producer, stage manager, backstage crew, set design & construction, props, microphones, costumes, makeup, photography, publicity, and ushers. ​

• Choose the show.
• ​Select the director and producer.
• Hold auditions and call-backs for the cast.
• ​Production meeting to assemble all the people who will be responsible for the various components, including stage management, backstage crew, set construction, set dressing, sound & lighting technicians, props, makeup & hair, and publicity. The producer and director set the schedule for rehearsals based on room and stage availability.
• ​Week 1  - Table read. The cast gets a feel for the characters and story line. Set, prop, costume, and publicity requirements are determined.
• Week 2 - Blocking on stage, to determine the positioning, movement, and interaction of each character in each scene, using a mock set and ghost props.  Actors learn their lines.
• ​Week 3 - Blocking on stage and working with props. Actors learn their lines.
• ​Week 4 - Blocking on stage and working with props. Actors learn their lines.
• ​​Week 5 - Off-book rehearsals, actors know their lines. The director meets with the sound & lights technician for a "paper tech" i.e. a walk through the script to set the sound & lights throughout the show.
• ​Week 6 - Tech week. The stage is prepared with the constructed set (walls, doors, stairs, windows, etc), dressed (sofas, chairs,  paintings, etc) is the props are laid out on and off stage, actors dress in costume as required to rehearse. Back stage crew rehearse scene changes. Programs are printed.
• Day before the first performance - Full dress rehearsal
• Day of performance - Set, sound, and lighting checks are made. The cast is made up, costumed, mic'ed and ready.
