OLD PROS presents two one-act plays by award-winningplaywright Christopher Durang:NAOMI IN THE LIVING ROOM; and FUNERAL PARLOR. In these two one-acts, themes of family trauma and constricting social conventions are explored, and through absurdity and out-sized characters, he delivers hilarity and humanity. In addition to a Tony, Mr Durang won 3 Obies and was a Pulitzer Prize Finalist. The players are Robin LaValley, Terry Jackson and Barbara Attell. The producer-director is Keitheley Wilkinson. Please Note: the first performance is on Tuesday, Nov 18 at Clubhouse 7. The second is at The Towers, Saturday, Nov 22nd. As always, the doors open at 6:30 and the play begins at 7 pm. Remember, members are free, guests are $5 and delicious, complimentary snacks are available. Come for the wine, stay for the show. Auditions
On Tuesday 21 October, from 2 to 4PM on the stage at the PAC, the OLD PROS is holding AUDITIONS for performances for 18 December and 21 January.
We are re-staging "Words No Music: Naughty or Nice", with a holiday theme, in December. Actors are tasked to recite (with great sincerity) the lyrics of songs. Some are beautiful, some are truly silly. While we have a small library of song lyrics, we're open to hearing a favorite song of your choice. For this show, Memorization is not required but Sincere interpretation is much desired As is reeling with feeling
At the same time, we will be looking for actors to fill 10 roles in five playlets. All the scripts are the same. Only the characters and settings are different. The playlets were written by Gila Zalon from a sketch by Lee MacMorris. While the playlets will be staged in January, a movie version of each playlet will be created as well. The working title of the set is "Scripts to Nowhere". Memorization will be required.
